Type of Wood

Cabinets are made out of all sorts of wood, and the wood plays a large role in determining the look of your cabinets as wood varies in grains, colors, and price.

Cabinet Finish

A stain is a good option for those wanting a warm wooden look. Or a painted finish is also a popular option.

Door Style

The cabinet doors will also influence the appearance of your kitchen. Here are 3 common terms used when describing cabinet door styles:

  • Standard overlay cabinet doors tend to have a more visible face frame around each individual door and drawer.
  • Full overlay cabinet door style means there is very little cabinet face frame showing around each door and drawer front.
  • Inset cabinet doors are set into the cabinet frame and fit flush with the face of the cabinet when closed.

Cabinet Construction Options

These cabinet features are less noticeable but still very important to the structure and durability of the cabinets. All of the cabinets we suggest are both plywood and dovetail and here are a few reasons why.

Plywood: is known to be one of the best options for cabinets sides, backs, shelves, and drawer bottoms. It resists moisture and is very flexible and easy to install, and is highly durable.

Dovetail joints: at the front and back of the drawer boxes are notched to fit together like a puzzle piece. This adds extreme strength to the drawer box joints.

When it comes to style you will have these two choices.

Framed cabinet: consists of a cabinet box with an attached face frame, with doors and drawer fronts attached to that frame.

Frameless cabinet: consists of the cabinet box with the doors and drawers attached to the inside of the cabinet since no frame exists.

Taking all these cabinet options into consideration let us know your preferences. We want to help bring the proper look and feel to your space and the products around it.
